It's time to reveal which has got the most votes from the recent poll we had on site!

Any guesses?  The music in which big names like Michael Jackson and Mariah Carey have made popular— Yes, it's the Rhythm and Blues, commonly known as R&B!

Here are a few of the Fun Facts we gathered about R&B:

• It was back in 1940's that the Rhythm and blues originated.  Often abbreviated to R&B, it is a genre of popular African American music.

• According to Billboard magazine, the most commercially successful R&B artists were Usher, Beyoncé Knowles, Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey and Rihanna.

   

       

• Some recording artists today have already combined traditional R&B with pop, pop rock, and dance-pop, to create a lighter and more youthful sound.

• One "English" R&B singer has sold a total of about 13 million albums across the globe!  He is no other than Craig David.

   

• According to the British Official Charts Company, Rihanna is this year's best-selling R&B/Hip-Hop albums overall , with three    top selling R&B/Hip Hop Singles of 2011 in UK.
