Start your new year with a bang, as the Movie Club brings to you the fourth installment of the Underworld franchise, the Underworld Awakening! This movie will surely make your blood run dry when it hits the big screen early this 2012 in 3D.

Just to give you a quick backstory, the age old war between the vampires and Lycans (werewolves) started when Victor (Bill Nighy) put to death his own daughter Sonia (Rhona Mitra), when she conceived a child with the first Lycan named Lucian (Michael Sheen). As Lucian’s revenge, he waged war against all vampires. Now fast-forward to the present, where Victor adopted our main character named Selene (Kate Beckinsale), and turned her into one notorious Death Dealer vampire, which sole purpose was to hunt and kill Lycans. Now, Selene learning the truth about what started the war, turned against Victor, and beat him in a way Death Dealers are supposed to do. And oh, in the midst of all her battle, she met a mortal named Michael Corvin, who was poisoned by both Lycan and Vampire blood and survived thus making him one kick ass hybrid Immortal.

Now back to Underworld Awakening. In this movie, Ex-Death Dealer Selene, breaks out from prison and finds herself in a future world where humans have discovered the existence of both Lycans and Vampires. Now it has become an all-out battle to get rid of both immortal creatures.

We are pretty sure you can't wait to know more about the movie but we won't give you too much, so watch the trailer, it’s anybody’s guess what’s going to happen next. Catch the movie when it hits the cinemas in early 2012.

• She attended grade/primary school at Flexlands Private School in London, England where she took ballet lessons.
• Kate spent her teens reading German, Russian, and French novels. She completed A-levels in these areas which resulted in her admission to Oxford University.
• She won the prestigious WH Smith's Young Writers' competition – one for her short stories and one for her poetry.
